Bryn Scola, M.P.A.S. P.A.-C.

ScolaBryn Scola earned his masters of physician assistant studies at Eastern Virginia Medical School in Norfolk Virginia from January 2006 until he graduated in May 2008. He completed 12 months of classroom studies as well as 15 months of clinical studies, which consisted of 8 clinical rotations in major disciplines to include, but not limited to surgery, internal medicine, emergency medicine, and pediatric medicine.

While attending Eastern Virginia Medical School, he worked as a patient advocate at Children’s Hospital of the Kings Daughters. He came to work at Urology of Virginia in January of 2009 after being credentialed as a hospital based physician assistant. His duties include hospital rounds, admissions, discharges, ordering labs, imaging, and assessing, diagnosing and treating patients under physician supervision. He does minor procedures at bedside and assists in the operating room with one of the groups physicians if needed.

He is now seeing patients he sees in the hospitals at follow up appointments in the office to maintain continuity of care. Bryn sees patients in Sentara Virginia Beach General Hospital as well as Sentara Princess Anne and Sentara Leigh Hospitals. He also provides ongoing education to hospital staff on all units with scheduled in-services to ensure safe practices to the patients that are served. He regularly has physician assistant students shadow him while they complete their rotations. He is a current member of the American Urological Association (AUA), American Academy of Physician Assistants (AAPA) as well as the Virginia Academy of Physician Assistants (VAPA).
