These scholarships are awarded to high school seniors graduating from a medical specialty program in Hampton Roads public schools.
One $1,000 scholarship will be given to one graduating student from each qualifying school. The scholarship is non-renewing. Only students planning to pursue careers in medical research will be competitive.
While economic need and representation are not qualifications for awards, they are considerations. The purpose of SURF’s Futures in Research Scholarship is to encourage talented students of all backgrounds to pursue careers in medical research.
Application Process:
1) Complete this form. Progress CANNOT be saved, so we recommend you review this form and prepare your answers and attachments PRIOR to filling it out online.
2) Ask TWO recommenders to follow the instructions below to submit recommendations. They must be emailed to SURF by the deadline. As with all letters of recommendation, please give your recommenders ample time to respond.
